Important: TableToSQL generates scripts from the data you provide. Always review generated SQL and test it on a non-production environment, with a recent backup, before running it against a real database.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use apply to the TableToSQL website (www.tabletosql.com) and to TableToSQL Desktop PRO. Both are offered by an individual seller operating under the brand DataForge ("we", "us"). By using the website or Desktop PRO, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our services.
2. The services
- TableToSQL.com is a free web tool that converts data from Excel files, CSV files or pasted tables into SQL scripts (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) and other formats such as JSON and XML. The free version has a limit on the number of rows it processes.
- TableToSQL Desktop PRO is a paid Windows application, sold through Gumroad, that provides the conversion features on your computer without the website's row limit.
Features, limits and supported formats may change over time.
3. Permitted use
You may use TableToSQL for lawful personal and commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the services to process data you have no right to use, or in violation of applicable law.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the website or its infrastructure.
- Copy, resell or redistribute the website or its code, except as allowed by law. Desktop PRO is covered by the license in section 6.
- Remove or alter any copyright or ownership notices.
4. Reviewing generated scripts
TableToSQL produces scripts automatically from the data and settings you provide. You are responsible for checking them before use. In particular:
- Review every script before running it, especially UPDATE and DELETE statements and any script that will run against a production database.
- Back up your data and test first in a development or staging environment.
- Generated output may need adjustments for your database engine and version (for example, data types, date formats, quoting, reserved words, NULL handling or character encoding).
- Check that the source data, column mapping, key columns and conditions are correct. Errors or unexpected values in the source data will be reflected in the output.
5. Your data and files
You remain the owner of, and are solely responsible for, the files and data you process with TableToSQL, including having the rights and permissions to use them and protecting any personal or confidential information they contain. On the website, conversion happens in your browser; see the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Intellectual property and Desktop PRO license
The TableToSQL website, Desktop PRO, their software, design, text and the TableToSQL and DataForge names are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Scripts you generate from your own data are yours to use.
Desktop PRO license
When you purchase Desktop PRO, you receive a license that allows you to:
- Use Desktop PRO for both personal and commercial purposes.
- Install it on as many computers as you need, as long as they are your own or under your use. There is no technical limit on installations.
The license is for you, the purchaser. You may not:
- Resell, sublicense or rent Desktop PRO.
- Redistribute it or share copies of the software or its installer with third parties.
The purchase grants a license to use the software; it does not transfer ownership of the software or its source code.
7. Purchases, payments, updates and refunds
Purchases and payments
Desktop PRO is sold through Gumroad. Prices, taxes and payment methods are shown on the Gumroad product page at checkout, and payments are processed by Gumroad under the Gumroad Terms of Service.
Updates
- Purchasers of Desktop PRO receive all 1.x updates free of charge.
- Future major versions (for example, 2.x) are not included in the purchase and may be offered separately.
- Updates are released when available; we do not commit to a specific update schedule or to supporting the product indefinitely.
Refunds
Desktop PRO comes with a 7-day money back guarantee: refunds are available within 7 days if the product does not work as expected. Refunds are processed through Gumroad. To request one, contact us at info@tabletosql.com within that period.
This guarantee does not limit any rights you may have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the website available, but it is provided free of charge and may be interrupted, changed, limited or discontinued at any time, for example for maintenance, technical problems or factors outside our control. Third-party services the website relies on may also be unavailable at times.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The website and Desktop PRO are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that they will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the generated output will be correct or suitable for a particular purpose or database.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss, database damage, downtime, lost profits or other indirect or consequential damages resulting from the use of the services or of scripts generated with them, including scripts executed without prior review, backup or testing. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Desktop PRO, if any.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the services after an update means you accept the revised terms.
