In short: the tables, files and scripts you convert on TableToSQL.com are processed in your browser and are not sent to our servers. The website uses analytics and advertising tools that collect usage information, described below.
1. Who we are
TableToSQL (www.tabletosql.com) is a tool that converts data from Excel files, CSV files or tables pasted from the clipboard into SQL scripts (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) and other formats such as JSON and XML.
TableToSQL and TableToSQL Desktop PRO, a Windows desktop application, are offered by an individual seller operating under the brand DataForge ("we", "us"). You can reach us at info@tabletosql.com.
2. Your tables and files
When you load an Excel or CSV file, paste a table or use the example data on the website, the data is read and converted by JavaScript running in your own browser. The generated SQL, JSON or XML is also produced in your browser.
- Your files and table contents are not uploaded to our servers.
- We do not store your files, table contents or generated scripts.
- The analytics events described in section 4 do not include your table contents. They are limited to usage information such as the type of script generated and the number of rows.
The generated script stays in the page until you close or reload it. When you use the "Copy" button, the script is placed on your device's clipboard by your browser.
3. Website vs. Desktop PRO
TableToSQL.com (free website)
Conversion runs in your browser, as described above. Loading the website itself involves requests to our hosting provider and to the third-party services listed in this policy (for example, analytics). The site's fonts and video player are served from our own hosting.
TableToSQL Desktop PRO
Desktop PRO is a Windows application that you install on your computer. It processes your files entirely on your computer:
- It does not upload your files, tables or generated scripts to our servers or anywhere else.
- It does not include analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or automatic update checks.
- It stores a small history of table names and column types locally on your device, to make them easier to reuse.
- Files leave your computer only when you choose to share them, for example with the Windows Share option, by dragging a script into another application or by copying the file to the clipboard.
Windows and the Microsoft Edge WebView2 component used by the application may connect to Microsoft independently (for example, for their own updates or security checks), according to your Windows settings and Microsoft's terms. Purchases are handled through Gumroad (see section 6).
4. Analytics and advertising on the website
The website currently uses the following services:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google) to understand how the site is used. It may collect information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site and interactions. We also send a small set of usage events, for example: loading a file, pasting a table, generating or copying a script (with the script type and row count), reaching the free row limit, playing the demo video and clicking Desktop PRO links.
- Google Ads tag (Google) to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns, for example whether a visit came from an ad. Google may use this information according to its own policies, including for ad personalization where permitted.
- Azure Application Insights (Microsoft) on the home page, to monitor performance and errors. It may collect page views, browser and device information, performance timings and error details.
- YouTube (Google): only if you open the "Video Help" link, the video is embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you open the video; once it plays, YouTube may store or read information on your device according to its own policies.
We do not sell your personal information. We use the information from these tools in aggregated form to improve the website and our products.
5. Cookies and your choices
The tools listed above may store cookies or similar identifiers in your browser (for example, to distinguish visitors, keep sessions or attribute ad clicks). TableToSQL's own conversion features do not require cookies.
You can limit or refuse these cookies by:
- Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings.
- Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Adjusting ad personalization in Google My Ad Center.
Blocking these cookies does not affect the converter.
6. Desktop PRO purchases through Gumroad
Desktop PRO is sold through Gumroad. When you buy it, you provide your purchase information directly to Gumroad, and payments are processed by Gumroad and its payment providers.
- Handled by Gumroad: your payment details (such as card information), billing, taxes and the purchase checkout. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Shared with us as the seller: Gumroad makes certain purchase information available to sellers, such as your email address, name, the product purchased, price paid, purchase date and country. We use it to deliver the product, provide license and purchase support, handle refund requests and keep sales records.
Gumroad's handling of your information is governed by Gumroad's Privacy Policy.
7. Contacting support
If you email us at info@tabletosql.com, we receive your email address, the content of your message and anything you attach. We use this only to reply to you, resolve your request and keep a record of the conversation. Please avoid sending sensitive or production data; if you need to share a sample to report a problem, use anonymized data.
8. Third-party providers
These providers process information according to their own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy (Google Analytics, Google Ads, YouTube)
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services
- Microsoft Privacy Statement (Azure hosting and Application Insights)
- Gumroad Privacy Policy (Desktop PRO purchases)
Some of these providers may process information in countries other than your own.
9. Security and data retention
Because your tables and files are processed locally, they are not stored on our servers. The website is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep purchase records and support emails only for as long as needed for the purposes described above and to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the settings and policies of the respective providers.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, email info@tabletosql.com. For information held by Google, Microsoft or Gumroad, you can also use the tools those providers offer. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children
TableToSQL is a tool for professional and technical use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy and contact
We may update this policy when our tools, services or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. For any question about this policy, contact us at info@tabletosql.com.
